Alan Shell is the Director of Lean/Continuous Improvement Services at DVIRC. He is responsible for facilitating organizations in their Continuous Improvement journey utilizing his Master Black Belt skills in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. This involves on-site training and collaboration, as well as leading public training and education courses and certifications held at DVIRC.
He has subject matter expertise in process improvement with a solid technical base from over eight years in engineering. He has worked extensively with the printing, automotive, injection molding, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and defense industries.
Prior to joining DVIRC, Alan served as Quality Manager at Essentra Packaging and Continuous Improvement Engineer at L-3 Communications. He spent the majority of his career at Lockheed Martin, where for 17 years he served in several engineering and quality management capacities. One of his key accomplishments was to bring the Six Sigma methodology to the Lockheed Martin facility in Moorestown, New Jersey.
Alan holds Bachelor of Science Degree from University of Delaware and a MBA in Quality Science from Drexel University. He holds a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and is a AS9100/ISO Certified Auditor. He is currently a Senior Adjunct Professor at Rowan University at Burlington County.
