Alan Shell

Director of Lean/Continuous Improvement Services, Master Black Belt

Alan is responsible for facilitating organizations in their Continuous Improvement journey utilizing his Master Black Belt skills in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. This involves on-site consulting, training, and collaboration, as well as leading public training and education courses and certifications held at DVIRC.

He is a subject matter expert in process improvement with a solid technical base. He has worked extensively with the food & beverage, printing, automotive, injection molding, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and defense industries. Prior to joining DVIRC, Alan worked for Essentra Packaging, L-3 Communications, and 17 years at Lockheed Martin, where he led the development, and adoption of the Six Sigma methodology. He is a highly sought-after subject matter expert.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Delaware and an MBA in Quality Science from Drexel University. He holds a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and is an AS9100/ISO Certified Auditor.

David Augustin

Director of Manufacturing, Lavazza North America

David Augustin is an experienced industrial engineer and operations manager skilled at developing and executing company strategies while fostering teamwork to drive project teams to higher levels of performance and efficiency. He will share how LavAzza utilized Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
